TCC-CIMET Hosts International Quality Management Training for Executives
The TCC International Centre for Innovation and Manufacturing Engineering Technologies (TCC-CIMET) has successfully hosted another International Quality Management training for executives at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The three-day program brought together professionals and executives from a wide range of industries to deepen their knowledge of quality management principles and how to apply them within Ghana’s industrial context. The event was jointly organized by TCC-CIMET, the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), and German partners, with the goal of building technical capacity, encouraging cross-sector dialogue, and generating actionable, locally grounded quality solutions.
Lead Facilitator and Quality Management expert, Mrs. Matilda Freda Marful, explained that the training focused on understanding Frugal Quality Management Concepts, where global quality frameworks, fit in to reflect Ghanaian and African industrial realities. She added that hands-on exercises equipped participants with practical tools for process optimization.
“We adapted a central QMS-themes that enables us to contextualize the frameworks for participants, so they reflect what they’ll encounter in their organizations or typical Ghanaian workplaces. Participants also engaged in exercises where they identified industry-specific challenges and co-developed tailored solutions through collaborative activities, including value stream mapping, process flow mapping, FMEA, and the Turtle Diagram,” Mrs. Marful said.
The training combined interactive presentations with hands-on learning and group discussions on topics. Participants represented sectors including Public Utilities, Healthcare, Automotive, Finance, Mining, Academia, Nuclear Safety Management, Municipal Executives, Construction, and Engineering Consultancy, creating a rich and diverse learning environment.
Participants gave overly positive feedbacks, commending the workshop’s practical approach, expert facilitation, and relevance to their professional duties. Many said the programme had equipped them with valuable tools and insights to apply in their workplaces.
The training also underscores TCC-CIMET’s leadership in promoting Quality Management Systems – QMS, Standardisation and highlights its role in developing a new generation of resilient, high-performing professionals across Ghana and the African continent.
