TCC-CIMET Reflects on 37-Year Legacy of Sustainable Innovation
Did you know that as far back as 1988, the then Technology Consultancy Centre (TCC) championed one of Ghana’s early efforts in sustainable construction? That year, the Centre launched an ambitious initiative promoting clay bricks as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional cement blocks.
In December 1988, TCC prepared and submitted a proposal to the Development and Application of Intermediate Technology, seeking support for research and development toward establishing a pilot brick project. This forward-thinking idea aimed to advance affordable housing solutions while reducing environmental impact.
Today 37 years later that pilot brick project remains a testament to the Centre’s enduring commitment to innovation. It stands as a reminder that visionary ideas, when pursued with purpose, can shape industries and inspire future generations.
At TCC-CIMET, we continue to build on this legacy through new transformative initiatives such as The CIMET Projects, reinforcing our mission to drive sustainable technology development, innovation, and community impact.
