Director-General Visits TTPU – Strengthening Technology Transfer at Suame
Prof. Francis Davis, Director-General of TCC International Centre for Innovation, Manufacturing, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (TCC-CIMET), has paid a working visit to the Technology Transfer and Product Unit (TTPU) at Suame Magazine to monitor ongoing laboratory and product development activities.
During the visit, the Ag. Manager of TTPU, Mr. Donald Amrago, took the Director-General through a number of ongoing projects in the lab, highlighting current prototype development processes, fabrication work, and industrial testing activities. The engagement provided insight into the Unit’s operational progress, technical innovations, and areas for strategic improvement.
As the production wing of TCC-CIMET, TTPU plays a central role in translating research into practical solutions. The Unit leads in prototype development and product fabrication, adapts technologies to meet the needs of local industries, and undertakes applied research and industrial testing to ensure products are market-ready. It also builds the capacity of artisans and technicians through hands-on training, while providing dedicated technical support to SMEs and engineering enterprises within the Suame industrial ecosystem and beyond.
The visit reaffirmed TCC-CIMET’s commitment to strengthening technology transfer, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, and driving sustainable industrial development
